This restaurant opened in 1728 on the ground floor of a building from the same period in Copenhagen. It began as a serving room (skænkestue) for Grand Café and was called Café no. 4 after the street number. It was popular with cab drivers, who wore leather overalls, and it got a folk name that became its official name in 1930. Classic Danish specialities are served, and there is live music.
Tables can be booked by e-mail or phone, and online booking is available. Drinks guests can simply walk in. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert are served, and there is outdoor seating. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
