This restaurant by the harbour serves Danish food in maritime surroundings. At lunch there is a herring table (sildebord) with 12 house-made herring specialities, and the smørrebrød, Danish open sandwiches, is made from scratch, often on organic rye or wheat bread. The building housed several steamship companies in the early 1900s, and windows with "New York" etched in the glass are still there.
Tables can be booked online, and there is a lunch menu, an evening menu and a two-course theatre menu. Allergies and dietary needs are catered for if you tell them in advance. There is outdoor seating, vegetarian dishes, beer, wine and cocktails, and it is good for children. There is no takeaway, and the entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
