This independent environmental organisation works for a green and sustainable transition of society by creating and sharing knowledge on green solutions and influencing politicians, companies and citizens in Copenhagen. Its focus areas are resources and the circular economy, a fossil-free energy system, green transport and food, and a green EU. It publishes analyses and position papers, for example on PFAS in construction.
It was founded in 1991 as Det Økologiske Råd (the Danish Ecological Council), with a secretariat of about 12 employees. It is a membership association where people can support the work as members or supporting members and sign up for a newsletter.
