This humanitarian organisation was founded in 1922 and is rooted in the Danish national church (Folkekirken) and Christian values. It works in 19 countries on emergency aid after disasters, long-term development, climate aid, rights work and mine clearance. Emergency aid means food, water and shelter after war, famine or natural disaster.
It is independent and funded by public fundraising, private donors, companies, foundations and funds such as Danida, the EU and UN agencies. You can give a monthly donation, gifts such as goats and chickens, or volunteer in its charity shops and Wefood. There are also free public talks.
