This interest organisation brings together organisers of festivals, music venues and democracy festivals across Denmark, acting as their spokesperson, adviser and sounding board. It is politically active, speaks for organisers to politicians and authorities, and negotiates framework agreements with booking agencies and copyright organisations. It was founded in 2011 through a merger of Festivaldanmark and spillesteder.dk.
The association is based in Symbion in Vesterbro and holds seminars, courses and conferences for live organisers. It receives no public grants and is independent of party-political interests, funded by membership fees from festivals and venues. It publishes news, podcasts and consultation responses and has a members' area.
