This is the trade organisation of the Danish forestry sector. Its members are mostly forest owners, including individuals, companies, foundations and municipalities, and some members own no forest. It is funded mainly by member dues and is not bound by party politics. The secretariat is in central Copenhagen, close to Christiansborg, the authorities and other organisations.
It publishes the magazine Skoven and a weekly newsletter and advises members on the EU deforestation regulation. It offers forest-owner insurance covering storm damage and product liability, and its wholly owned subsidiary DSHwood A/S buys timber from Danish forests and sells it on. It also runs the portals Skovbrugsviden.dk, Fakta om Danmarks Skove, Adgangsregler for skov and Træ.dk.
