This lunch restaurant stands by a canal in Copenhagen and has existed since 1852. The building was originally Det plessenske Palæ. It is known for a large selection of smørrebrød (Danish open sandwiches) and for boiled pickled herring made to a secret recipe. There is also a lunch platter and larger platters with, among other things, five kinds of herring, warm plaice fillet with shrimp and asparagus, and cold-smoked Bornholm salmon. The decor is maritime.
A crayfish feast is held in season. Beer, wine and coffee are served, and there is outdoor seating. Tables can be reserved, and card and mobile payments are accepted. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
