This private body promotes voluntary defence work within Denmark's Total Defence, in cooperation with the armed forces, the Home Guard, the police and the rescue services. The meeting place is a beautiful old building in Odense, by the former barracks area and Ansgars Anlæg, and by its own account it is the last preserved soldiers' home of its kind in Denmark.
It is run by volunteers. Only member groups can use the premises, and food and drink are arranged when the room is booked. It is open for events Monday to Thursday from September to May, and closed over Christmas and New Year.
