This is a national organisation working to strengthen wellbeing among girls and young women through direct support, stronger communities and the adults around them. It relies on around 300 volunteers, who receive training and supervision. The secretariat is spread across four local offices in Copenhagen, Aalborg, Aarhus and Odense.
Young people can chat anonymously and free of charge with a counsellor and write to the letter-box service Brevkassen Pigetanker, and parents and other adults can get advice. There are lectures and workshops, and the EmpowR course is for girls aged 13 to 16. The counselling services are accredited by RådgivningsDanmark.
