This is a national patient association for people with liver disease, their relatives and liver transplant recipients. It was founded in autumn 1991 by transplant recipients and is a non-profit, independent and non-political association. It has over 600 members, is run by a board and works with Danish and foreign organisations. It publishes the magazine Levernyt and holds events and campaigns.
Members can get advice from a social worker and a psychologist, join a patient-to-patient scheme or a group for relatives. The association provides information on liver transplantation, organ donation, alcohol and liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis and hepatitis C. Support can be applied for through the Lev Livet Nu Legatet fund and individual grants via KV FONDEN.
