The library is run by Copenhagen Municipal Libraries. Visitors can read the daily newspapers, see book exhibitions and use study desks or soft seating areas. The children's library is on the first floor, with activities for daycare institutions, school classes and families with children, and there is a section called Det Levende Arkiv (The Living Archive).
Registered users can borrow materials and use the library's e-materials, and some can enter outside the staffed opening hours. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
