This is the city's largest public library, with over 6,000 square metres. It stands in the old medieval town with a view of the Round Tower (Rundetårn), in buildings that were originally homes and a factory. Across four floors the library is divided into zones: fiction, a children's floor of about 1,000 square metres, non-fiction with study spaces, and a floor for author events and reading and writing clubs.
The ground floor has loans and returns, pick-up of reserved books, the Democratic Café and stroller parking. There are printing facilities, and staff hosts offer guidance and reading inspiration. The library has a lift and carries the Access Denmark label.
