This restaurant close to Aarhus City Hall is one of the city's oldest. The cafe opened in 1924 as a wine bar and gained a kitchen with lunch dishes and smørrebrød (Danish open sandwiches) in 1928. The innermost room is named after the poet and regular guest Hans Hartvig Seedorff Pedersen. The Hauge family has run it since 2007, keeping its traditional style.
The menu is traditional, with lunch dishes and smørrebrød. You can book a table, also for parties and group lunches, and it serves beer, wine, cocktails and coffee as well as vegetarian dishes. There is a children's menu and a toilet. The parking is not wheelchair accessible, and there is no outdoor seating.
