This restaurant serves Danish home cooking in a forest in Odense, and children can play on a nature playground. It uses local bakers, makes its own pickles and buys seasonal vegetables. Dishes include a bacon omelette, a fried fish fillet with salmon, shrimp, lemon and dill, and pariserbøf (Danish minced-beef patty). The building dates from 1871 and is named after Carl, son of its builder, Chamberlain Chr. Benzon. At Christmas there is a julefrokost (traditional Christmas lunch).
Tables can be booked online, which is recommended for groups and at Christmas. There is brunch, lunch and dinner, a children's menu and vegetarian dishes, and you can sit outdoors. The entrance, toilet and parking are wheelchair accessible.
