This guided historical walk follows Viking-age traces in the landscape around Odense from about 1000 years ago. The stories cover royal murder, offerings, trade, transport and power. The route is 15 km, from Åsum along the Odense river into the city centre and back, and a shorter 7.5 km version runs from Åsum to Odense city. It is organised by the local branch DVL Fyn of the Danish Hiking Association together with Museum Odense.
The route can be followed with the USEEUM app, where you choose Vikingeruten under TID, or on Outdooractive and Historisk Atlas. The association was founded in 1930 and is Denmark's largest hiking association.
