This restaurant serves classic Danish food in an old cellar with beamed ceilings. Smørrebrød, Danish open sandwiches, is a speciality, and there is a traditional cold table with items such as pickled herring and roast pork. The food is made from scratch with ingredients from known suppliers. The house traces its history back to 1750, and the building is said to date from 1539, when the Royal Brewhouse stood here.
Lunch and dinner are served, and brunch at weekends. There is outdoor seating by a fountain from 1910. Tables can be booked online, by phone or by e-mail, and the house takes bookings for groups and private events. A julefrokost, the traditional Christmas lunch, is offered every year. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible, and dogs are not allowed.
