This association was founded in 1988, during the first Intifada, and is a nationwide membership organisation with regional associations and local groups, including in Copenhagen. Through public meetings and other democratic activities it seeks to influence Danish public opinion and authorities toward a greater effort for Palestinians' right to self-determination.
Its work is based on UN resolutions, including on a Palestinian state in the occupied territories and on refugees' right to return. It has contacts with Palestinian NGOs and with peace and human rights organisations in Israel. The website collects opinion pieces, statements and publications, and has a webshop.
