This is the professional association of authors, illustrators and translators in Denmark, founded on 19 May 1894. Georg Brandes, Henrik Pontoppidan and Thit Jensen, who introduced the library fee, have been associated with it. Its premises are in Copenhagen, and the website tells the history of the building.
Members get legal advice, free courses, grants and a travel fund. It has specialist and interest groups, runs a translator search service and publishes its own magazine. It holds courses and events and rents out its premises. The entrance and parking are not wheelchair accessible.
