Marselisborg Palace is a royal residence in Aarhus, built in 1899-1902 to designs by the royal building inspector Hack Kampmann. It is named after the Marselis family. The garden of about 13 hectares is laid out in English style with large lawns, small lakes, a rose park and a herb garden. Its sculptures include Peter Brandes' 4.78-metre Marselisborg jar and Nicolas Lavarenne's six-metre bronze ferryman standing in a lake.
The palace is not open to the public, but the garden is open when the royal family is not in residence. It closes up to four weekdays before and up to two weekdays after a royal stay. The entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible.
