This circular wooden bridge runs from the beach at Varna out into Aarhus Bay, forming a circle 60 metres across and 188 metres around. It was designed by the Aarhus architects Johan Gjøde and Niels Povlsgaard. It began as a temporary installation in the ARoS exhibition Sculpture by the Sea in 2015 and was made permanent because it proved popular with locals and tourists.
The bridge lies on the beach below Varna Palæet and can be walked on from April or May to October. Aarhus Municipality offers weddings on the beach by the bridge, in the middle of it or out over the water. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
