The Aarhus office belongs to what is described as Denmark's largest trade union for musicians. The union organises musicians, soloists, singers, DJs, music teachers and other music and sound artists, with membership categories for students, freelancers, orchestras, permanently employed musicians and others.
It works for better pay through collective agreements, local pay negotiations and minimum rates, including for freelance gigs. Members can get advice on contracts, music rights, tax, sick pay and career matters, plus courses and events. An instrument insurance is available, and the union publishes the magazine Musikeren.
