This inn in Henne Kirkeby traces its history to 1790, when it served travellers simple food, beer and spirits. The painter Johannes Larsen liked to work and relax here, and the inn was a base for hunting parties. Today it is a gourmet restaurant with lunch and evening menus, a wine list and produce from its own garden, plus 12 rooms across three buildings. It holds two MICHELIN stars.
The Skouboe family has run it since 2007. Breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking are free, and pets are welcome. The entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible. Tables and rooms are booked by phone or e-mail on weekdays during office hours.
