This public university has campuses in Odense, Esbjerg, Kolding, Sønderborg and Vejle. It offers bachelor's, master's, engineering and continuing education programmes as well as PhD studies. Students and staff have access to itslearning, MitSDU, SDUmail, library services and DigitalEksamen. The university was founded in 1966, and its opening was attended by King Frederik IX.
There are research centres, including in maritime research and nature restoration. The university runs an events calendar, a press room for finding experts, and job listings. The entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible.
