This open-air museum in Odense shows rural life in the 1800s and is part of Museum Odense. The houses originally stood across Funen and the surrounding islands and were moved to the village. Farm animals are kept on the fields and in the barns all year, and hens roam freely. Gardens and fields grow crops for self-sufficient farming.
There are guided tours and living history on selected days in the season, when volunteers in 1800s costume demonstrate work and crafts. There is a museum shop and Café Krostuen, open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00. The entrance, parking and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
