This lunch restaurant is in old Copenhagen and serves smørrebrød, Danish open sandwiches. Everything is made from scratch, and classics include curried herring with four kinds of capers and tartare of freshly minced meat. There are over 45 spiced and seasonal snaps, cold beer and coffee.
The building, the House with the Green Tree, dates from 1795, and it has housed a restaurant since 1902. The interior has wooden panelling and historic photographs of Copenhagen. The square is Copenhagen's oldest, and there has been a tavern on the site since 1671. Private celebrations can be held. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible, and dogs are not allowed.
