This building and civil engineering contractor works in three business areas: civil works and infrastructure, construction, and renovation and transformation. Projects include bridges, housing and large hospitals, while smaller craft jobs are handled in-house. The company is more than 100 years old and grew out of two firms, Højgaard & Schultz (1918) and Monberg & Thorsen (1919), which later merged.
Early works include the Old Little Belt Bridge (Den Gamle Lillebæltsbro), handed over in 1935, and the functionalist petrol station at Skovshoved designed by Arne Jacobsen. DSB (Danish State Railways) has long been a key client.
