This restaurant serves traditional Danish cuisine in a building from 1900, the same year as Aarhus Teater. There has been a restaurant here since 1908. The walls are hung with signed photographs of Danish theatre names, stage photos, premiere drawings and posters. At lunch there are platters with herring, fish, roast beef and smørrebrød (Danish open sandwiches), and the à la carte menu has classics such as frikadeller (meatballs), stegt flæsk (crispy pork belly) and wiener schnitzel. Desserts include homemade pancakes.
Tables can be booked, and gift cards are sold. Bills cannot be split. It suits groups, and cards and mobile payments are accepted. There is no outdoor seating, and dogs are not allowed. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
