This free legal aid service in Aarhus is a self-governing institution, founded in 1935 and independent of private and public interests. It gives basic advice on everyday legal questions, but does not represent clients in court. Its core areas are tenancy, employment, debt, family and inheritance matters and immigration. Advice comes from about 34 volunteer law students and lawyers working in pairs under supervision.
You can get personal advice by appointment or walk-in, but booking is advisable. Without an appointment, arrive at least 45 minutes before closing. Phone advice is also available at set times. Wheelchair users should book ahead, as a separate room must be reserved.
