This manor (herregård) lies about 12 km southeast of Odense and is run as traditional farming and forestry on about 900 ha. The almost 200-year-old Romantic Garden of about 15 ha opened to the public in 2010 after a major renovation. It was laid out by Johan (von) Bülow, former chief of staff to Crown Prince Frederik, and is one of the first landscape gardens in Denmark, with a canal system of about 2 km. It has about 7,500 peonies, the first planted in 1801.
Two markets are held in the garden each year, in spring and autumn. The historic rooms can be hired for weddings, conferences and Christmas lunches (julefrokost). Entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible.
