This house of worship stands in the centre of Odense and is dedicated to the Holy Mother of God, the Virgin Mary. Odense had a bishopric by 988, when the city was first mentioned in a document from the German emperor Otto, and it celebrated its 1000-year jubilee in 1988. It describes itself as active, spacious and present.
High mass is held every Sunday at 10.00 and on the last Sunday of the month also at 17.00. Coffee is served after services, where you can talk with priests and churchgoers. There is baby hymn singing, a reading circle, concerts, lectures and TorsdagsCaféen. Baptisms and weddings are arranged through the attendant or the priests. The entrance, parking and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
