This play area is in H.C. Andersens Hus, part of Museum Odense, with rooms built for play and filled with costumes and props themed on H.C. Andersen's fairy tales. Children play with costumes, theatre and a fairy-tale hairdresser's salon. There are improvised fairy tales on stage and live storytelling of Andersen's tales, and a workshop teaches the craft of mending and making lanterns from old book pages.
All children are welcome with an adult, and each adult may bring at most four children. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There can be a short wait to enter at weekends and on holidays. Birthday parties can be held in a private room, and the entrance, parking and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
