This palace was built in the 18th century in the Italian baroque style. Since 1 May 1869 it has housed the Royal Danish Army Officers' School (Hærens Officersskole), whose roots go back to 1713, when officer training in the Danish Army began. Today the school is part of the Royal Danish Defence College.
The Army Officers' School Foundation (Hærens Officersskoles Fond) runs guided tours of the palace and the school, which include the former royal chambers.
