This family-run hat shop in Copenhagen was founded in 1857 by the French hatmaker François Petitgas. He won a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900, and the diploma hangs in the shop. Most of the interior is original, and the building is protected. Brands include Borsalino, Mayser and Stetson, with styles from fedoras and flat caps to panamas and fur hats.
A hat has to fit exactly, so there is no online shop: customers come in to be advised and fitted. Men's hats and caps are also sold to women. The entrance and parking are not wheelchair accessible.
