This building materials store is in the heart of Christiania in Copenhagen and sells new and reused materials: reclaimed floorboards, doors and windows, pipes and fittings, plus paint, hardware, garden plants, hobby articles and toys. Some goods are sold loose, such as nails, screws, cement and sandpaper. Sheet material and glass are cut to size, and keys can be copied and tools rented.
The hall was built in 1847 as a riding hall for Bådsmandsstræde Kaserne and was designated a building materials market in 1978. Since 2011 it has been run as a business foundation open to everyone, and it opens at 11 on Mondays. Christiania is car-free, so park on Refshalevej or Bådsmandsstræde and borrow a hand cart. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
