This is the practical building arm of Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen, dealing with the area's physical framework and infrastructure. Its tasks include maintaining the water, sewer and electricity networks, maintaining and expanding the road network, and securing fire roads and access for rescue vehicles. It also aims to raise the building-technical level in Christiania.
The office advises on construction and fungus control and helps with fire-safety design. It helps with applications to the 1/3 scheme and the Green Loan Fund (Den Grønne Lånefond) and pays out grants. It also looks after the area's ramparts, lakeshore, footpaths and trees.
