The Aarhus branch of the Red Cross is a volunteer association, founded in 1876 as the first local branch in Denmark. It runs first-aid courses, mainly traffic-related first aid for driving licences, usually held at weekends. The courses are taught by specially trained instructors.
The certificate is valid for driving licences and lasts two years. The branch can also arrange courses for companies, parent groups and sports clubs of 14 to 16 participants, lasting 4 to 12 hours. It also runs seven second-hand shops in Aarhus.
