This deciduous forest covers about 83 hectares, with beech, densely wooded areas and large grassy areas. Several small ponds are home to different amphibian species, and the forest is used for hiking, running and horse riding. Local school classes run activities here, and it also suits role-playing events.
The forest has a shelter with a campfire site, which can be booked through Aarhus Municipality's booking site, while the forest itself cannot be booked. Overnight stays are allowed only in the shelters, not elsewhere in the forest. Parking is at the end of Kornmodsbakken, with a driveway from Marienlystvej. Visitors must take their litter home or use the bins provided.
