This wrestling club in Aarhus was founded on 8 July 1919 by Marius Vanger and Hermann Kofoed, with Vanger regarded as the founder. The name is said to derive from Greek and mean strength. It split off from a multi-sport association in 1929. It has produced Danish champions, including titles in 1943, 1949 and 1959, and took part in the 1952 Olympics. It is known for a strong volunteer community.
There is wrestling for all ages and levels: children from about 3, youth, junior and senior teams, recreational and national-team wrestlers, plus functional training and a beginners' course for adults. Training takes place in Åbyhøj.
