Privacy Policy (Denmark) - GDPR and Cookies

Effective date: 10 November 2025

This notice explains how DenmarkGuide (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes personal data of users in Denmark under the EU GDPR and the Danish rules on cookies.

Who we are

Controller: DenmarkGuide
Email: denmarkguidedk@gmail.com

You can lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet). You also have the right to complain to any EEA supervisory authority.

What data we collect

  • Account data: email, password (stored as salted hash), display name.
  • Communications: messages you send us (e.g., contact forms, email).
  • Device & cookies: IP address, browser/device info, referrer, timestamps. Non‑essential cookies (analytics/marketing) are off by default and used only with your consent.

We do not intentionally collect special‑category data.

Why we process it (purposes & legal bases)

  • Provide and secure the service (sign‑up, login, support, security): contract or legitimate interests.
  • Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics 4) to improve our service: consent.
  • Advertising/marketing tags (e.g., Google Ads): consent.
  • Email marketing (if any): only with prior consent and an easy unsubscribe in every email.

Cookies & similar technologies

We use only strictly necessary cookies by default. We ask for your informed consent before using analytics or marketing cookies, in line with Danish cookie rules. You can accept or reject non‑essential cookies and change your choices anytime via [Cookie Settings]. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Sharing & processors

We use trusted service providers (“processors”) to host and operate the service (primarily within the EEA/Norway). With your consent, we may use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. We do not sell personal data.

International transfers

If data is processed outside the EEA (e.g., the United States by Google), we rely on valid transfer mechanisms (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable and/or Standard Contractual Clauses with additional safeguards).

Retention

  • Account data: for as long as your account is active, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable time.
  • Security logs: up to 90 days.
  • Analytics/marketing reports: typically up to 14 months (depending on settings).

Cookies: per the lifespan stated in our Cookie Policy or until you delete them.

Your rights

You can access, rectify, erase (including account deletion), restrict processing, object (where we rely on legitimate interests), receive a copy (data portability), and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
Contact us at denmarkguidedk@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Children

We do not target our services to children. Where we rely on consent for online services, Danish law requires parental consent if you are under 15. If we learn we collected data from a child without the required consent, we will delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, salted‑hash passwords, monitoring, and regular updates to protect your data.

Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the site with an updated effective date.
