The National Museum of Denmark is housed in the historic Prinsens Palæ, just steps from Christiansborg Palace and Copenhagen’s central squares. It contains the largest collection of Danish cultural heritage — from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Viking era to the Middle Ages, modern history and contemporary Danish life. The exhibitions are interactive and engaging for both adults and families.

Highlights include the Trundholm Sun Chariot, the famous Golden Horns, carved runestones, richly furnished Viking graves, royal artefacts, historical interiors and extensive ethnographic collections from around the world. In addition to its permanent displays, the museum hosts seasonal exhibitions, cultural events, workshops and guided tours in Danish and English. Visitors can also enjoy a café and a well-curated museum shop.
